The Embassy has funded the following three projects through the Dutch government’s PSD project initiative in Burkina Faso:

– Dry More: job creation through the development of a value chain using the off-season processing capacity of the mango drying industry for other products such as spices, herbs and dried meat.

– CLE (Cultivating the Spirit of Enterprise): promoting entrepreneurship among youth and women, aiming to ensure access to entrepreneurial opportunities through a broad information, training and communication campaign.

– PACAJeF (Projet de l’Amélioration du Climat des Affaires pour les Jeunes et Femmes): improving the business climate for start-up entrepreneurs, including better access to finance.

However, there is a risk of inappropriate alignment of the 3 projects with the strategy of the Dutch Embassy on the one hand and insufficient collaboration between the 3 projects on the other. This results in less impact and the risk of duplication of activities and targets of the 3 projects.

To facilitate alignment and create synergy between the three projects, the Embassy recruited CIDS and CWW, who produced “A Synergistic Action Plan, agreed upon by the three consortia CLE, PACAJEF and Dry More, the Embassy and RVO to ensure continuous alignment until the end of the PSD projects (December 2023), including recommendations on how to collaborate (at strategic and activity level) within the framework of the project actions and budget”.
